Prayers Please- Updated

UPDATED THURSDAY with the latest info. Please keep them all in your prayers. Say one now, just so you don't forget tonight! Thanks.

(from Eva) This morning my OB came in to see Sarah, and said she would like to keep her in the hospital until Monday. Monday they will check her (they didn't today) and see if she is dilated any more. My doctor said her gut is telling her to keep Sarah in the hospital until 28 weeks (she is 26.5) just to be safe. If she gets dilated to 3 cm, she will be in the hospital until 34 weeks. After 34 weeks they won't do anything to stop the contractions, because we will be pretty much in the clear.

Both Sarah and the babies still have good vital signs, and Sarah is in MUCH better spirits since coming off the magnesium.

Everyone is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Marshall and Presley in there for as long as possible. Sarah has done AMAZING throughout this week, and been such a trooper. I am amazed every day at her strength, as this is not easy on her family either.

I feel very at peace with things, and I know that my babies are fighters just like their mommy! I will send another update Monday. (the end)

Original Post:
A friend of mine is in need of some prayers. Maybe you can say one for her now.

Eva is a high school friend of mine who was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. She is now in remission and is expecting twins via a surrogate in June. She is obviously very excited and will make an excellent mother. Eva sends emails after each doctor visit to update us all on how the babies and surrogate (Sarah) are doing. Read her latest email below.

From Eva:
We went to the doctor today, and it turns out that Sarah is 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. This is obviously not good for babies that are only 26 weeks old. We were sent over to the hospital so they could monitor Sarah. She is having contractions, but not labor contractions. They have started her on magnesium which will hopefully stop her contractions. They are also giving her antibiotics, and steroid shots for the babies (it will help their lungs develop quicker). She is on strict bed rest from here on out. She will be in the hospital at least 48 hours, but as my doctor said, "I am in no hurry to have you leave the hospital" so she could be in there a while.

We had an ultrasound, and the babies are okay. He weighs 2 pounds 5 oz. and she weighs 2 lbs 3 oz. They are not in distress and are doing well.

We don't know why this happened, but basically her body thinks that there is one baby in there. It doesn't know that it is 26 weeks along with two, it thinks it is 35 weeks with one (that is how big her belly is measuring). The doctors are doing everything they can to keep the babies in there, but prayers from all of you wouldn't hurt! :)
