Anna snores like a grown man. It's loud. It's obnoxious. It's a problem. I can actually handle the snoring. I can't handle the seconds at a time she quits breathing in her sleep. It's not a serious problem now but I believe it will be. I decided to take her to the ENT. He took one look at her tonsils and said "yep those are huge and I recommend we take them out." I'm OK with it. I know it's going to hurt. The doctor told me it would be about 10 days of major discomfort. I'm willing to sacrifice 10 days for her to sleep soundly and to breathe in a normal rhythm. She will also be getting her adenoids out at the same time. Her surgery will be outpatient at a hospital. The procedure will take about 45 minutes. She'll be knocked out completely. She'll be allowed to eat ice cream and popsicles several days a week for about 2 weeks. Currently she is scheduled for surgery on July 2 at 7:30 am. Wish us luck and say some prayers that she is at ease going into the hospital and that she heals quickly.
Let me take a minute to update you on Cole's ENT visit. I took him because the urgent care dr. said the tube was out and Cole has been complaining about it. The ENT doc said the tubes are both out but they are so close to the eardrums that it will be very painful for him to remove them in the office. I told him that I didn't want to do that right now because it's not something he complains about everyday. He told me to let him get lots of water in his ear this summer either from the pool or bath tub in hopes the tubes will be flushed out.
