Growing Up Quick

Anna started gymnastics last week. She loves it. She wasn't shy at all. She walked right off when they called her class to start. She did so good. She's also very smitten with Coach Jeff (the main instructor for her class). She hasn't stopped talking about him since last Wednesday. I'm so excited for her to be taking gymnastics. Below are just a few pictures I took the other day.

That tiny little body is Anna.

Anna listened so well during warm up.

Anna and Emma. They were in the same preschool class this past year.

Cole is learning to swim. I'm not shocked one bit. This is the same child that wanted to learn to use the potty a month before his second birthday. Today, while swimming at Deidra's, Cole had been using his floaty. He had to take it off for a few minutes then forgot it wasn't on and got in the pool. Nathan and I were standing there watching him but we wanted to see what he was going to do. He got in the pool and quickly went under and came right back up. After that he decided he wanted to try to swim. He practiced for over an hour with Nathan and I. He was doing AWESOME! I couldn't believe how well he could kick. He doesn't kick fast enough to tread water and keep his head out of the water but he can put his head down and swim from one place to another. He could swim over 5 ft on his own. It's not much but it's a huge start. I am so proud of him. We are constantly reinforcing the rule of no swimming unless mommy or daddy are in the pool watching him. He acts like he's not listening when you tell him that but I pray he is hearing me.

Anna has been learning how to do a flip off the diving board (and the tall side of the pool). She was doing so good yesterday but today she was a little shy. Hopefully she'll find her courage again and start flipping once more.

Cole swam from the step on the right side of the picture to Nathan.
