Totally Don't Get It Tuesday

I guess I've just been under a rock because seriously this New Moon (Twilight Saga) vampire love story business just goes right over my head. I totally don't get it. What is so appealing about these books that teenagers and women much older than me go nuts over the movie. Twilight dolls are invading the Barbie sections at my local Target. What the heck!?! That Robert Pattinson guy seriously needs a shower and a brush. I thought Taylor Lautner was just Taylor Swift's boyfriend. Who knew he was just as big as she was in terms of celebrity status. I don't know the girl's name in the movies but from the pictures I've seen of her she's down right scary.

I'm willing to read the books but currently I'm tangled up in my own vampire stories. Vampires used to be of no interest to me until Nathan and I got into True Blood (on HBO) this summer. I have read the first 6 books in record time and I've got 3 more to go. I love, love, love Sookie Stackhouse. So much that (& I'm not kidding, can't believe I'm outting myself) when I become a grandparent in 25 years I want my grandchildren to call me Sookie. Can't help it. I just like her name. Nathan thinks I'm crazy but I'm serious.

I guess after I read the Twilight series then I'll finally get it. Just want to apologize now to Katie because she's a HUGE Twilight fan and I'm using her Totally Don't Get It idea for a post.

I was the same way until I finally read the books in no less than a week a few months ago. My husband actually likes the first movie, but doesn't want to spend the time reading the books. We have yet to see New Moon, but once we find a babysitter, I'm there.

I wasn't much of a fan but decided to read since it was such a craze. The first book was good. Got bored with the 2nd. Have fun Sookie!

I'm not sure we can be friends. This post makes me sad. You can't say you don't get it until you TRY, girl. And, her name is Kristen Stewart (Bella). She's quirky, delightful, shy, and lovely.

Read these books. It's Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, Romeo and Juliet. It's the ultimate love story. After you read the books, you'll rush to the movie. I promise not to say I told you so.

I'm not a reader, but I liked the first movie. I'm a sucker for all romance, esp Austen. But a sci-fi romance is even better.(Roswell was and will always be my favorite TV show. There's no one better than Max.)
Charlie thought I bought tickets to see New Moon last weekend but I gave him a break and surprised him when we walked into the theater for Blind Side. That was an amazing movie and story, even if there were no werewolves or vampires ;)
