Hey Boo Boo

This weekend we took the kids camping for the first time. It was so much fun. We went to a place just outside of Houston (30 minutes from home). The campground was a Jellystone Campground (Yogi Bear) which caters to kids big time. There were so many things that I'll put them in bullets below.

*Yogi Bear meet & greet each day.

*3 pools. One of which was a kid pool with several water slides that the adults were actually allowed to go on and we did ALOT!

*Outdoor theater for movie at dusk. We didn't take part in this but it was a neat option.

*Craft house. They have cheap ceramics that kids could paint or t-shirts they could paint. They also had a free "make mom a card" craft. We did this a couple of times.

*Hayride. Anna loved this.

*Fishing pond. Bruno loved it but we never made it there.

*An awesome store that had almost everything (except Pedialyte-more on that later)

*Cabins. For those of you who aren't down for tent camping.

*Putt-Putt.

*Petting zoo with some seriously angry goats. Kids thought it was so cool.

*A very retro and tad bit scary play ground. Think metal slide. It was perfectly safe but it looked like something that was put there maybe in the early 70's. Kids still enjoyed it.

Overall this place was top notch. We will be going back. In fact we may even go back at the end of the summer or early fall.

So back to the need for Pedialyte. Cole apparently caught a bug and brought it camping with us. He had a great day Friday playing in the pool, sliding down the slides and swimming like he knew how. Then Friday evening he threw up until he was empty then dry heaved until he went to sleep. I felt bad for the poor guy. The next day he had diarrhea all day. We had to leave camp for a little bit to get some Pedialyte to keep him hydrated. He wasn’t himself Saturday and he threw up again on Sunday. Now the bug appears to be traveling as our neighbor now has it and we all feel yucky in the Sorensen house.

All in all it was a fun Mother’s Day weekend. A quick note to my own mom. Thank you for all that you do for me and my family. I couldn’t ask for a better mom.
