Austin Marathon

Nathan ran in the Austin Marathon on Sunday. He finished in 4:03 which was more than he wanted but really awesome considering the course is mostly hills. He wasn't taking that into consideration when setting his goal in his mind. The kids and I along with our good friend John drove around and met up with him every 4 to 5 miles. We cheered loud and couldn't have been more proud of him at the finish line.

Nathan had 3 cousins and 1 brother running also. From left: Michael, Nathan, Tony, Ronni & Lara

Before leaving for the marathon.

Miss Priss also made her own sign. She's so happy that she can spell words now.

One of my signs. I had 6 total. I built a PVC pipe frame to hang them all on. Then Nathan put all the signs on wire hooks so I could flip between signs.

Mile 11

Mile 26- almost done and still smiling!

The medal he "won for Anna." She wore it more than he did.

We all wore green (the kids had on their jackets) to show support for Nathan.

Such an awesome accomplishment! I hope to run my first half marathon this year. I can't wait to run a full. Congrats Nathan! Loved your signs and your idea of flipping through them. So creative!
