Donuts with Dad

Tuesday was Donuts with Dad day at school. Anna and Cole have been looking forward to this for weeks. On a daily basis Anna has been asking how many more times do I have to go to sleep before I wake up and it's Donut day? Unfortunately on Sunday afternoon she started throwing up. Monday she was still bad so I took her to the doctor. I explained to her that she was not going to be able to go to Donut day. She was upset but Nathan promised to take her on a Donut date late this week. Tuesday came and she was even worse so we knew there was no way she was going to Donuts with Dad day. As Tuesday progressed she got worse and worse. We were very close to taking her to the hospital for dehydration. I've never seen her this way. After a couple of phone calls with the nurse we had a plan of action to get her rehydrated. It worked. This morning she woke up smiling. She's still in pain but she's doing much better.




Nathan did go to Donuts with Dad day with Cole. Cole showed Nathan all around his class. When the party was over and Nathan had to leave, Cole cried and cried. I guess he thought Nathan would be staying all day. Below are some pictures I took before Cole's donut day and then today because Nathan took Anna.

Cole refused to let me take a picture of Anna and Nathan alone. You can tell that Anna is still not feeling 100%. She was so excited this morning to go with her daddy but after she had a couple of bites of donut she started having a stomach cramp. I know it's not the best for her but honestly the first time we had seen her smile in days was when we asked if she wanted to go. She perked up and was so happy.




Nathan had to trick Cole so he could get a picture with just Anna. Of course I was in such a hurry to get the picture that I cut the top of his head off.
