Saturday morning we continued our tradition of making chocolate covered strawberries. We made two quarts of strawberries and they were all gone by Sunday afternoon. This year Cole had fun participating. He's gotten so good about participating and listening to directions. This school stuff is really paying off!
Saturday evening I had a hot date. Jason, Nathan's brother, agreed to come watch the kids. All day the kids had been so excited that Uncle Jason was coming over while mommy and daddy went on a date. About 10 minutes before we left Cole's separation anxiety kicked in and he starting having a major melt down. He ended up crying himself to sleep shortly after we left. He slept all night! Anna had Jason all to herself. Apparently when it was time to go to bed she gave Jason some MAJOR grief. It took forever to get her to bed. Thankfully Jason has some MAJOR patience so he was able to handle the situation. I can't believe Jason wasn't waiting in his car when we got home. Thanks Jason for keeping our kids. Due to the lack of family living nearby, Nathan and I have just gotten used to taking our kids with us everywhere we go. They aren't used to staying with a babysitter very often. Jason was worn out so I'm thinking he might agree to do this again in about 3 months. I'm looking forward to it! hehehe
Nathan took me to Perry's for our date then to the wine bar. Perry's was delicious. We have never been. I was so happy to go out to eat with just the two of us. We didn't have to say "sit down", "put your knife down", "don't spill your drink", "do you need to go teetee" or "please leave each other alone" one time. It was awesome. After the wine bar our friends Carrie and Casey came over for a drink on their way home from their date night.
All in all this weekend was a ton of fun.
This picture is from this morning. These kids are spoiled rotten. This is all the loot from their grandparents and from Nathan and I. Needless to say it was a candy breakfast kind of morning in our house!
Happy Valentine's Day.
