My Granny would have been 82 today. I know if she were alive I would have called her already. Our conversation would have gone like this.
Me: Hey Granny. Happy Birthday.
Granny: Oh why thank you.
Me: What are you doing?
Granny: Nothing. Just watching the boob tube.
I can say without a doubt that nearly every conversation I had with her started with her telling me she was watching the boob tube. Every conversation ended with me say, "alright Granny, well I just wanted to tell you I love you." She'd say, "I love you too and give them babies a kiss from their Great Granny." I miss hearing her voice. I miss her.
It's been a rough year for the Carter Clan (my mom's side of my family). Last year we loaded up like Sanford and Son and took Christmas to Jackson. I knew the chances were high that it would be the last one with my Aunt Cynthia. Didn't really think it would be the last for my Granny as well. I'm glad I went.
Happy Birthday Granny! I miss you tremendously.
