Recovery

Anna has been doing really well with her recovery. Friday she continued to bounce off the walls until she laid down and went to sleep for the night around 6:00. Saturday was more of the same. I gave her some prescription pain medicine as often as she required it which wasn't too often. I believe the meds made her nutty. She just bounced off the walls all day. We even got out of the house for a little but. She had a couple of visitors Saturday. First Carrie (Anna's future mother in law) brought over an activity set to help keep Anna busy inside. She loved it. Then Emma (classmate, gymnastic buddy) and her mom brought Anna and Cole a smoothie. Anna wished she could have played with Emma but technically Anna was supposed to be resting (yeah right, like that happened!). Uncle Buck (my brother Blake) also came for a visit. He hung out for a while and had dinner with us. Anna and Cole loved having him here although Cole may have worn Blake out.

Saturday night Anna started to run a fever. It got up to 101.4. The doctor told me if it got to 102 I needed to call right away. I dug my paperwork out to find the number to call in case her temp continued to rise. I also gave her Tylenol. The Tylenol helped break the fever. Unfortunately I was more concerned about Anna getting nutrients through milk and Pediasure that I wasn't really paying much attention to her clear fluid intake. This is what led to the fever. She was supposed to be drinking more water and juice and less milk. Lesson learned.

Sunday and today have been about the same. Memaw came over for a visit and brought Anna some coloring and sticker books. We also went to see Toy Story 3. Anna usually loves movies but she wasn't feeling great so I don't believe she really enjoyed herself. She is slowly eating a variety of soft or mushy foods. She still eats a ton of ice cream and popsicles but it's allowed for now. I'm hoping she can start going all day without taking her pain meds. She had codeine this morning and just plain Tylenol this evening so we are getting there I guess. Please continue to pray for quick healing and less pain. She's doing awesome but I can't wait to get her back to 100%!
