Candy Monster

My sweet, precious, loving daughter has turned into a raging monster in the aftermath of halloween. All she wants all the time is candy and cookies and I'm sick of it. She throws the most ridiculous fits when we don't give into her candy outrage. She wakes up in the morning and asks for a snack rather than breaskfast. Even though I have tried very hard to differenitate snacks from junk she still calls everything snacks. I offer her healthy snacks but she throws a fit. I'm going out of my mind. Needless to say all the halloween candy she got last week is about to go in the trash. Cookies are fine every once in a while but there seems to be dozens in my house at the moment so those are going in the trash too. I feel like a terrible mother but I'm out of options. If I allowed her to she would eat junk all day and never eat her meals.

Someone please tell me these terrible two fits don't last forever. To make it worse Cole has begun throwing his small version of a tantrum. He either throws himself on the floor face first and screams or he throws his head back and falls back and screams.

Well...the terrible 2's do end, but then the 3's, 4's, 5's and sooo forth happen. But...you are NOT alone in this craziness! I have quite the candy monster living with us, too! I like to distract him with becoming the tickle monster and then acting exactly like him. It makes for good therapy, at least for me at times :)

So I'm not the only one with a kiddo who throws fits all the time? Tyson has started screaming/crying/whining now when he wants something, and we try to get him to "use his words"... so far not too succesfully.

Sorry about the fits. Sadly, I have no advice. We are having the same issues. You know we had to put a lock on the pantry door. Well, now I even need a lock for the fridge. The pedi actually told me Rose was eating for comfort. Now THAT made me feel like a horrible mother.
