On the way over I noticed Anna had a really snotty nose. I was a little peeved because I purposely did not take them to the Children's Museum the week before we left because I did not want them to be sick on vacation. Anna ended up sharing her nasty germ with me. On Monday I woke up and felt terrible. By Monday evening I was trying everything I could think of to clear my sinuses. Tuesday I went to the doctor there in Destin and it turns out I was running a fever, had a double ear infection and a sinus infection. He asked if he could give me a shot and I nearly had my butt cheek out before he could finish the sentence. The shot made my nose feel better but I'm still running a snot factory. The next day before we left town we took the kids back to the same doctor and they both had upper respiratory infections. Now we are all three on the same antibiotic. The kids are still coughing a ton so none of us are actually better but at least we don't all still feel like crap.
Nathan's youngest brother, Wade, lives about 30 minutes from Destin so he was able to join us several days. The kids rarely get to see Wade so they had a blast getting to know him better. I believe Wade had fun with them too.
A couple of highlights from the trip
-Anna fell down a flight of 10 stairs leading to the beach. Head first all the way down from the top stair. She was beat up pretty bad. Waterproof bandaids saved the day. Thank goodness I packed those last minute.
-The kids loved going crabbing. Anna was an expert crab finder but had a major fit when one crawled across her toes.
-I've learned that some people just do not buy into that whole "find the perfect bathing suit for your shape" thing. I have never seen so many big women wearing bikinis.
-Visiting The Villages of Baytowne Wharf in San Destin was awesome. That place was so neat.
Cole loved the waves the first night.
We stayed at Maravilla. It was the perfect location.
Cole loved crabbing
