Wade visits

Nathan's youngest brother Wade came home for a visit after being stationed in Japan for the last 15 months. He's in the Air Force by the way. He'll be here for 3 weeks so he's traveling the state to see his brothers and sister. Heather actually flew in from Oregon to see him. We had a packed house this weekend. Anna & Cole loved showing off in front of their aunt & uncles (Kevin came in from College Station to join the fun). Since some of Wade aunts and cousins read this blog I thought I'd share some of the things we all asked him.

  • He eats a lot of sushi. The chow hall on base has terrible food so he eats off base a lot.
  • He has a room on base but because his building is so old there is no one occupying the the room attached to his so he gets 2 rooms and a bathroom all to himself.
  • He has a very Japanese car. Over here in the states we lovingly refer to them as "ricers."
  • He is not dating anyone over there because he has a special someone back at home.
  • He runs a lot now. Ran both days he was here.
  • Grocery stores over there aren't like here. He couldn't really elaborate. I was the one who asked that question since I go to HEB about 3 times a week.
  • He has Japanese civilian friends as well as military friends.
  • He knows only a little bit of Japanese now. Not as much as he would like.
  • He puts missiles on planes. Said it gets boring so he's hoping to cross train soon.
  • Will be in Japan for a year more. In September (I think) he finds out where he will be stationed next. He's hoping for Germany, Europe (didn't specify) or some place else but I can't remember. I think he's hoping for Germany.
  • Last but not least. HE SMOKES. None of us are happy about this obviously. He said he only started a few months ago because it's the only way you get breaks in the military. I think that's a load of crap personally. If our military rewards people for smoking then that is absolutely ridiculous. Nathan will probably ask me to take this bullet point off but I'm not gonna. I'm very passionate about not smoking.

All in all it was a good visit. Anna was so happy to see her aunt Heather.

Yes I know her eyes are closed but it was the only decent one I got.

On Saturday night we all went over to our neighbor Jenn's 30th birthday party. They rented a bouncy castle for the kids to play in and boy did they have a great time. Cole got right in with the big kids and went to town.
