Yesterday was my first day on the job. I had a whole day of errands planned and only made it half way through because of Anna throwing a fit everywhere we went. She threw a fit in Target because she didn't want to be in the cart. After she got out of the cart she got really scared of a man cleaning the floor. So scared that she threw another small fit while trying to scale the side of the cart to get back in. Then we were on our way to the grocery store and she threw a fit because she was hungry. We finally made it to HEB and it was pouring rain and I had to get Anna and Cole out of the car and into the store somewhat dry. Anna held the umbrella over us while I ran in with two kids and a diaper bag. When we got in she insisted on getting one of every sample (from the germ infested sample bins) she laid eyes on. Nathan always gives her these samples while I stand by and gag at how nasty the whole idea of it is. This time I gave in and gave her the sample cheese and crackers just to keep her quiet. Cole was a perfect doll just happy to be dry and safe until about half way through our shopping. So I had to feed him while attempting to steer the HUGE cart with a car on the front (Anna wouldn't get in the other cart). These carts are the worst invention and the best at the same time. It keeps Anna happy but it's horrible trying to navigate through the store with 2 hands, let alone just one. Anyway we made it home in one piece.
I'm going to spill the beans now just so I'll be humilated enough to pay more attention next time. We got all the way home (7 minutes from HEB) and Anna looked over my shoulder and said "hi mommy!" All of a sudden I realized that in the pouring rain I threw her in the car with the intention of coming back to her after putting the cart up. Well I forgot to come back and strap her in. So she rode all the way home without her seat belt on. Once she realized it she got out of her seat and decided to play. This stay at home mom stuff is hard but I'm getting better.
This is Anna's new style. Her outfit is on backwards and ALL the way up her crack. Doesn't bother her a bit.
Cole loves his new sippy cup.
He's up on all fours but still no crawling. But, he can army crawl better than anyone I know.

Oh Melissa, that cracked me up. Forget the germs...we will actually turn around and waste time JUST so the kids can have more samples. Whatever works.
One time I made it all the way from the dr's office on 1960 to day care in Tomball without buckling Tyson in. I didn't realize it until we got to day care ~ he just sat in his seat like every other day! :)
